Explore the McIntyre River

Route Description: Explore the calm and peaceful McIntyre River with an expert WildWaters guide. Your guide will take you up and down the river for a duration of 3 hours and provide natural interpretation of the land that surrounds the river. Interpretation will include plant and wildlife viewing and geological history of the McIntyre River.

Old Fort William

Route Description: In the morning participants are shuttled to the Old Fort William and are dropped off with a WildWaters guide. From the start point we follow the river back to Mission Island and stick to the left hand shore until we meet Lake Superior. Once on the lake paddle about 1 km until we reach the mouth of the McIntyre River. Its an easy paddle up the McIntyre until we reach the WildWaters Paddling Centre. Participants will leave their vehicles at the WildWaters Centre for the day until the return home.

Mission Marsh Loop

Route Description: We depart from the McIntyre Padding Centre in the morning and paddle out to Lake Superior. From the McIntyre River we paddle south for 1km until we reach the mouth of the Kaministiquia River. Turning right, we stick to the left shore of Mission Island until we reach the Mission Island Conservation area. Here we stop for lunch and a washroom break if needed. After our break we continue to paddle along the shore and make our way back to the McIntyre River.
